After being in the food and restaurant business for thirty years, Andy decided to open up Grill Time, a Leaside staple for the last ten years. A community-minded man, Andy has been showing Leasiders how to have stress-free gatherings of friends and family, with good food and a good laugh.  Councillor Jon Burnside, Ward 26 Don Valley West and Jillian Walsh, Founding Director, Remembering Georgia Walsh will be special guests along with Andy at this special first meeting!

THE 3rd ANNUAL KIDS HOLIDAY PARTY

We are excited to kick-off the holiday season with a well-loved SLMG event! Santa Claus is flying down for this mom and kids’ event! There will be no babysitters for this meeting. We’ll have coffee, treats, just BYO Sippy Cup! Everyone is encouraged to dress in their festive best! Santa will be at Trace Manes for a meet and greet with our excited little munchkins! Please bring a prewrapped toy no more than $20 in value with your child’s name attached and leave it with Santa’s little helpers in the toddler room. Santa will be handing out gifts to each child in attendance, which allows a moment with Santa and a photo op for us mamas! Get your camera ready!

Q & A WITH COUNCILLOR JAYE ROBINSON

Jaye Robinson is the City Councillor for Ward 15 – Don Valley West and the Chair of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). Jaye served on the Executive Committee and chaired the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee. She brings a passion for the arts and a 20-year track record as a community leader to the TSO Board of Directors. Jaye brings significant municipal experience to her role as Councillor. She was a senior manager in economic development at the City of Toronto for over 20 years. With an entrepreneurial approach, she successfully merged arts and community building initiatives with economic development strategies, creating a vibrant roster of annual events that generated significant economic benefits for the City. Kim is a mom of two and  an Advanced Certified Sensitive Sleep Consultant, a Certified HUG Teacher, Certified Newborn Sleep Consultant, and a member of the International Association of Child Sleep Consultants. In addition, Kim completed her Infant Mental Health Community Training through the Infant Mental Health Promotion (IMHP) and the Hospital of Sick Children, Toronto. Kim’s journey towards a rested family made her realize it was important to dispel the myth that allowing a baby to Cry It Out (CIO) is the only way to help a child sleep independently. One of the key components to sleep success, and what Kim teaches families, is learning to listen to what your baby is communicating and responding appropriately to their needs.

We will reach out a few weeks prior to this meeting to anyone who may have specific sleep concerns they would like addressed.
